Affiliate Disclosure
PoolGearGuide is reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission. This page explains exactly how that works.
The short version
- Some links on this site are affiliate links to retailers such as Amazon and specialty pool stores. If you click one and buy something, the retailer may pay us a commission. You pay the same price either way.
- Our outbound shopping buttons carry
rel="sponsored nofollow". There are no disguised links buried in the article text. - As an Amazon Associate, PoolGearGuide earns from qualifying purchases. We are also an affiliate for select pool brands and retailers through networks such as Awin and CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction).
What commissions do not change
- Scores and verdicts. Our editorial scores are set before affiliate links are attached, and a product with no affiliate program gets the same treatment as one with a generous program.
- What we recommend. If the budget pick is the right pick, we say so, even though it earns us less.
- What we criticize. Cons lists are real. A product that tangles its cable gets told it tangles its cable.
What commissions do pay for
Research time, hosting, and the coffee required to read pool pump manuals. That's it — no sponsored placements, no pay-to-play rankings.
Which programs we use
We participate in the Amazon Associates Program and in affiliate programs for select pool brands and retailers (for example, WYBOT via the Awin network and Aiper via CJ Affiliate), and we continue to add more. Each shopping button sends you either to the manufacturer/retailer ("Shop Direct") or to Amazon ("Check Amazon"), so you always know where you're headed.
